How does my Donation make a difference?
Grain For Groceries Inc. will distribute the money to the local food banks to the closet area of origination. Food Banks are chosen on the ability to screen the people accurately, and purchase food in an exponential factor.
For Example :
1/bu corn $4.00 = 100 lbs of food which feeds four people 3 meals/day for 7 days
1/bu beans or 2 1/2 bu corn @$10.00 =250 lbs of food which feeds nine people 3 meals /day for 7 days
19 million pounds of food is needed just to take care of current situation. The Hungry need US.
If 40% or 4800 farmers in the 11 county area we are talking about donated 19 bu of corn and 8 bu beans that would buy the 19 million lbs. needed.
